RLSS Awards

The RLSS provides two syllabus to teach - ROOKIE LIFEGUARDS for our younger club members and SURVIVE & SAVE for our 12's and over.  

​The latter Survive&Save element of the two has now been completely replaced by the NATIONAL LIFESAVING ACADEMY.    The ROOKIE continues and remains unchanged for the under 12's.

NLA Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

We wholly appreciate (and this has been discussed extensively during the consultation process with the RLSS!) that ALL the awards are called BRONZE which does move away from the expected incremental norm and previous progression of Bronze, Silver, Gold. 
The NLA journey is now :- 

• Lifesaving Certificate
• Star
• Medallion, and then 
• Distinction. 

These stages migrate and transition the club members on a journey towards them undertaking a Senior Award such as the NPLQ (National Lifeguard Pool Qualification).
