Dear all,
This Wednesday 17/12 is a Xmas fun-pool session. But more importantly we will be announcing the... and I'm also reliably informed Santa's Elves may also be making a visit to spread some pre-Xmas joy! Thank You. On behalf of Hayley...
This Saturday's Xmas Party (20/12) has been postponed until the New Year. We appreciate there are a lot other activities and demands on everybody's time at the moment. For those that said they'd like to go please "hold that thought" and Hayley and Tamsin will be getting in touch shortly to arrange a new date that suits everybody. Thanks. Dear Parents & Swimmers,
Everybody has received Raffle Tickets for this years Xmas Raffle. There will be lots of prizes to win. Please return the ticket stubs and monies raised to Chris when paying your sub's. Thanks, Chris Following on from our post on 8/11 here is a sample Swimmer Progress report which will be provided every 4~6 weeks for every team member so that they can understand and monitor their progress in their current RLSS module. Below is a sample.
Thanks to everybody that came to tonights meeting. Attached below is the detail of the Dutch Competition. Have a look at our endeavours in 2012 and our own video too.
To all swimmers and parents...
Since we came back from the summer recess the Coaches and Admin have been working with everybody to progress at their respective levels within the RLSS syllabus. In addition to this - behind the scenes - we have also been looking at the structure of the coaching teams and tracking & reporting the progress of every club member. We have recognised swimmer and parent feedback eager to know how they are progressing within the teaching and club. And to complement this we have done some major improvements and updated our approach to lessons tracking (for the coaches) and also Progress Summary Updates for swimmers and parents so they can see their current achievements, strengths and where their development areas are. To explain this approach and to cover ANY questions you may have we will be running a Q&A session next Wednesday 12/11 during the club night. So please don't drop-off & go. Drop-off and stay (!!) and come up to the upstairs cafe. To maximise peoples time and effort we're running this in parallel with the Q&A session for any swimmers that have expressed an interest in going to Eindhoven at the end of January. Thanks, Chris. Hi,
Eindhoven Competition We will be asking the swimmers tomorrow night and over the next few weeks if any of them would be interested in taking part in the competition in Eindhoven. Our last visit was in 2012 and following on from this years competition & weekend events our swimmers who met up with the Dutch team had a really good time and they've fedback an interest in going to Eindhoven next year. Hence we've been looking at the dates and logistics to enter a 2014 Team in Holland. It's on the 24th and 25th of January '15. The Dutch competition is run over two days. Day 1 (Sat) is the Incident Day and Day 2 (Sun) is their Speed Comp. In previous years we travel (fly) on the Friday (23rd) and return on the Monday (26th). On Nov,12th (please pop this in your diaries) we also plan to run a meeting for parents during the club session (ie. 19:30 onwards) if parents would like to ask the Coaches, Diane and myself any questions about what the competition is about, the travel and staying with our Dutch hosts. So it would be good to see any parents who have queries about the competition, trip, hosting and cost estimates. As in previous years we will also provide correspondence to Schools who have been willing to sanction absence-with-permission (ie. not held against their attendance record) because of both the Sporting and Dutch Exchange aspects of the trip. Thanks A really big thank you to all those that responded to the rallying cry for support and help this year.
This is the major fund raising opportunity for the club and we're immensely grateful for your early Sunday morning support in setting up and packing down. These activities help us to subsidise and sponsor club events over the course of the year. AND it helps to keep down the cost of membership and subs. Thanks, Chris. It's with deep sadness to report that Pat passed away a few weeks ago.
She was a major influence, tutor and mentor to many of the club members. She is fondly remembered for her contribution to the club through her teaching, judging at the competition, and her constant enthusiasm for the open water training at Barnby Dun. In keeping with her wishes the club has made a £50 donation to the RNIB. Her charity of choice. Regards, Chris. |
